Bells for Birds

Derbyshire Swift Conservation are excited to be working with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Derby Nature Collective this Spring as our Swifts return from Africa to fill our skies. Their numbers are declining, but together we can help. Bells for Birds is a growing Derbyshire born tradition inviting communities to celebrate the Swifts' return by ringing bells, sharing sightings, and making more space for these birds in our urban environment.

"What began with bell-ringing at two Derby churches has blossomed into a wider vision: for schools, churches, community groups and neighbourhoods to use bells, sightings, and shared events to reconnect people with nature, and help secure a future for swifts in our towns."                                 Source: https://www.derbyshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/bells-birds
