In 2025, Tideswell Swift surveyors counted 26 Swift nests in Tideswell village - an important process since unless we know where the Swift nests are, we cannot protect them. People can unwittingly block nest sites during home renovations when the Swifts aren’t here, only for the birds to return from their 14,000 mile journey to find their previous home destroyed. 

To celebrate Tideswell's Swifts, Claire Mead (Project Coordinator) and Kathleen (Tideswell swift champion) are hosting an evening Swift walk on Wednesday 24 June at 20:30-21:30 meeting at Fountain Square, Tideswell ([https://w3w.co/loaded.estimate.gratuity](https://w3w.co/loaded.estimate.gratuity)).
